Workshop Description:
We want to tell a story through painting, leaving plenty of room for interpretation so that viewers can find their own meanings.
We start with the atmosphere: Where should the story begin? Who or what is it about? Are we taking this journey together, or do we already have a destination in mind? We use photos and newspaper clippings as our starting point, as well as items you bring yourself or materials from the artist’s collection. These are spontaneously transformed into generous, expressive compositions using acrylic paints to hint at a story. This requires a willingness to take risks with abstraction, and the goal is to discover and let your own visual language flow, rather than creating a photorealistic depiction.
"As the course instructor, I’ll guide you by offering general tips on composition, color choice, and technique.”
