Workshop-Beschreibung

Watercolor Painting Indoors and Outdoors

In the inspiring, centuries-old cultural landscape surrounding Pöllau Castle and in the nature park’s open-air studio, art enthusiasts will find excellent conditions for watercolor painting.

We will explore in depth the characteristics and possibilities of watercolor painting. Through exercises, we explore the relationship between water and paint, discovering the various effects of watercolor painting. After a few warm-up exercises using brushes of different widths and plenty of water, we create a simple pencil sketch of our subject.

By painting in layers—allowing each layer to dry in between—the transparency of the colors comes to life, creating depth. We can also go outdoors to look for subjects and set up to paint in front of the scene.

"I see it as a fundamental human need to express oneself through color and form; often the only question is: how do I do that? My role is to stimulate this creative process and guide it both in terms of content and technique.”
