The exhibition ‘Role Models: in the mirror with me’ showed works of art and portraits presenting five Styrian women who are role models. A book with interviews accompanied the show. The ‘Role Models’ are intended to encourage women to confidently go their own way. The project was launched by the association FELIN_female leaders initiative, , which aims to increase the proportion of women in management positions in Styria. Styrian Summer Art brought the travelling exhibition to Pöllau as part of Bündnis 0803 in the run-up to International Women's Day.
The exhibition met with great interest from teachers and pupils at both schools. Several classes took the opportunity to work in more detail with Feli Fröhlich, one of the participating artists, in workshops to explore the topics of gender equality and traditional role models. The resulting collages can also be seen in the school after the exhibition.
An opportunity to meet role models in person took place on Thursday 2 March at 11:00 in the NMS assembly hall. In the discussion round, Michaela Zingerle spoke with Elisabeth Leitner, the project manager of FELIN, the role models journalist Claudia Gigler and Anita Nangombe, project manager of health projects in Namibia from Pöllau, as well as the artists Felicitas Fröhlich and Sabrina Petz about their own experiences on their career paths.
