‘He who savours wine so wisely, reads joy from the stars...’ A weekend in another world

Between Friday 23 and Sunday 25 August 2019, we can expect readings, performances and talks, concerts, dance and unforgettable wine tastings. New European, cross-border cooperation opportunities will be explored, as intercultural networking is always an issue. The Alps Adriatic Alliance, currently consisting of Styria, Burgenland, Hungary, Slovenia and Croatia, is already harmonising with Nordic Streets, Denmark and Scandinavian countries. On these days of poetry and wine, the aim in Ptuj is not only to enjoy, but also to make contacts all over the world, which will be possible at the Alps Adriatic Alliance Meeting on Saturday, 24 August at 2 p.m. in the muzikafe.

Of course, wine is also treated with particular sensitivity. Slovenian winegrowers are proud of their fine wines, which are among the highest quality wines in the world. The different climatic conditions, soil conditions and cellar techniques allow no less than 52 different grape varieties to mature in 14 wine-growing regions and 3 wine-growing areas. It's no wonder that they have come up with a lot of ideas for the presentation and tasting - we are already so excited about the wine altar! The big festival parade on Saturday transforms the whole town into a moving work of art made up of poetry, music and dance.
