Styrian Summer Art artists in dialogue

Based on the idea of ‘Slow Art’, on three evenings we invite you to take an intensive look at a few works by one artist at a time and then enter into a dialogue about the work, the artistic career and the creative process and discuss the resulting questions with the artist.

For the third dialogue in our series, we welcome Graz-based painter Julia Bauernfeind. Born in Klagenfurt in 1971, the painter Julia Bauernfeind lived in the USA for 10 years, where she studied graphic design, illustration and painting at California State University Long Beach. Since successfully completing her Master of Fine Arts in 2000, the freelance artist has lived and worked in Graz. In addition to numerous exhibitions in various galleries, including in California, New York and in many European countries, she also dedicates herself to various commissions and her own works. In oil on canvas and various drawing media, the artist creates works in the traditional genres of portrait, nude, landscape and still life. At the Styrian Summer Art farben.formen.festival, Julia Bauernfeind will be holding two workshops for adults (Ölmalerei, Urban Sketching) and one for children  Kinderworkshop (Painting for children).
